A semi-interesting story...
Reflecting back to school days, about 7th or 8th grade, and an exotic choir teacher who had us sing the "Pick a Bale of Cotton" song. Verse 1 was remembered very well for singing it often in my head, but I couldn't remember verses 2 or 3, so a youtube search began. The song was found and is below for viewing, but the lyrics were not the same...
Remembered lyrics of verse 1:
I've been picking this cotton all day long, and as I work I sing my song;
My back is breaking can't you hear me sigh, but sing'in keeps my spirits high.
Conclusion:
This particular song went well the Coming out of Babylon theme of this website and with a come 1, come all welcoming. On all accounts descrimination is an act of division, and division is nothing but destruction, and a house divided cannot stand. Let's all stand together, what do say?
