We all wish to protect the children, however, this is a story in defense of a senior citizen, a middle-aged woman and a veteran, and what the viewer sees just. Protect 1: Protect all!
There was an old woman who had an alcohol problem.
It was the way of her day, the days of the booming railroad.
A day when the men went to work
and the women stayed home,
so her need for a drivers license wasn't so alert.
As the day's rolled along the need for a license grew strong,
but lucky for her the rules were lax in her day
and the cashier could look at her and tell that her hair was grey
and that she was of age.
NO I.D.
NO beer, as we say today.
There was a middle age woman who was an alcoholic too.
You could say it was her fault, but if you only knew her you might have a clue.
As she grew older she had problems with her eyes that the doctor was trying to fix and she didn't see the mail from DMV that got caught up in the mix.
With her license now expired and her life is literally on the wire.
You see, a true alcoholic can not just quit because the withdrawl can lead to death, just like a herion addict.
Lucky for her she made it through, but not without a trip to the hospital.
How many lives have to hang on the line before we can see that our system is blind?
It took a veteran to help realize how much of a roll I.D.'s play in our lives.
The man stood there with hair white as snow striving to find his I.D. for the lady just to go with the flow.
As he turned around questioning that if we aren't free then why did he go to war for his country.
Reader: Is this all really necessary?
If they can't I.D. you they cannot track you. Then their system is bunk!
Who would want to live like this anyways?
